As someone who followed LSU during the Malveto year, I'm absolutely terrified. I have to believe Sumlin thinks it will work though, and his job is on the line with this hire.

Always wonder about those co-coordinator arrangements, but, at least these two guys have worked together before, so they should know what they are getting into.

Not saying that it hasn't worked before. But it seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't true.

Ags are a pretty engaged fan base. It is pretty easy to troll us with false rumors. This is the third iteration of a rumor, I wouldn't get too happy/sad until Sumlin announces something.

Heard DJ Durkin will be Michigan's DC when JH come back to Michigan.
Greg Mattison has 1 more year left with his Michigan contract. 800k sth. Think he will retire.
He is overrated. His defense sucks. He lucked as Raven's DC for 1 year. That can blind a lot of 18 years' old high school recruits.
Steve Spurrier said Mattison's scheme has a flaw. Tend to leave the middle of the field open. He took advantage of it in the Outback bowl.

I would be too. We all thought, "How badly can these two mess things up a year out a National Title." The reality was beyond words.

IF this happens, Durkin will be the DC. Simple as that. Mattison would likely either be in an advisory role, or be a position coach.
The ONLY explanation for the f' up yesterday though is if there is a bigger fish on the line that can't be announced until after the bowl games....You don't not tell 5 star recruits that two unemployed guys are going to be your DC/position coach if thats who its going to be; no secracy is needed. I think this scenerio is the back up option, but for now, Sumlin appears to think we have a big fish that is all but done.....that, or he's just a complete idiot.

Did I say DJ Durkin come to Michigan? He bypassed other jobs because he knew JH wants him in Ann Arbor.
