Agree. But is just looks good on a resume. Troop is also one to slap WRs after TDs, but his commitment level is even higher than that. He does flying bumps with them too.

I heard the hat turned backwards was the deal breaker with strong.

meh

Oregon dropped Randall at the end, Avery is PP's brother, Boone wasn't offered by the big boys. I think Boone was a Texas Tech commit before LSU or something.

Miller is a good get but landing these 4 is hardly great recruiting for all the time he's been here and the alleged recruiting ability he had.

I;m pretty sure Miller has a lot of family in Harahan. Yeah, Gonzales really sealed that one up for us.

Yeah, I wouldn't be heartbroken if he left.

I don't think he's great.
I don't think he's terrible either.

Tyke Tolbert is the Broncos WR coach so he basically has nothing to do anymore since Tebow is coach.

It'd be different if I didn't realize that you had taken the entire post of mine and remove one sentence out of it to act as if that's all he did.

I've provided you concrete proof he developed talent while he was here, as well as evidence that he pulled kids out of Florida routinely.

As far as your idiocy regarding Randall, Oregon had to fill its spots, and he wasn't cleared to sign on NSD. They wanted him but did not have a spot for him at the point in time he was open, but make no mistake, they wanted him. Just bad timing.

As for Kadron Boone not getting an offer from "the big programs", I guess the team we just beat for the SEC Championship isn't considered a big program. He was a commitment to them for a long while, so many teams weren't in on him.

As for the rest, your point of view isn't backed in logic or facts, just by the fact that you're too stubborn to admit he's done lots of good, recruited well, kept his nose clean, & been a good coach.

When our least valued coach-in my opinion as well-leaves to be an Offensive Coordinator for a CUSA bowl-team program then that's saying something.

so he wasn't left hanging out there by Oregon for anyone to swoop in and grab late?

he was committed to TT not UGA

So did Gonzales poo in toilets or not? Thats gonna go a long way into how I think of his stay here.

Boone had "big" offers. He chose TT because of Leach's offense. Billy is the reason he's here.

Avery was a commit as soon as Patrick's deal got done. Billy had nothing to with that.

Miller has family in LA but he himself credited Billy for his interest in LSU. He was all Auburn before Billy and Les started to press him

Randall also gave Billy credit for sticking with him all year even after he commited to Oregon. That was the biggest reason he contacted LSU when he started to look for another school. If Billy had just given up and not kept up contact it's likely that Randall is not at LSU right now.

He also had us involved seriously with a ton of Florida kids last year. Have to take into account how many power schools recruit Florida these days and we are the furthest away for most of those kids that stay in the South. It's not the easiest thing to bring a kid from Florida to Louisiana.

The receivers have been good this year. If you look at it objectively, Gonzo has done a good job this year.

Louisville and UGA were the other finalists for Boone.

And he was a TT commit for a while. Not UGA.

really a shame we couldn't hang on to Justin Hunter that year.

no way i want porter's RB rotation. move him to WR coach

Porter played RB in college and has only coached RB's. What does he know about the technical aspects of coaching WR's? Nothing. Don't need a coach that has never played or coached WR's, trying to do just that. That would be a disaster.

he's a good recruiter. prob a better coach than mccarthy was too. i am very happy with the current staff and would like to see as little attrition as possible...but if we had to lose one i guess gonzo would be my pick.

If he goes to the real UL, then we might lose the big OL from Florida that he recruited.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Him having pro experience would only help recruiting and coaching wide receivers.
