So if you had a time machine, you would've told LSU not to hire Saban?

IMO I think CEO would be a lifer and not jump ship to the 1st professional team that offers him like Tom Herman would..

Call me crazy but I'd rather the coach that is the the subject of many rumors of jumping to the NFL. That means he's great at his job.

Look man, I love coach o as much as anyone, but this line of thinking would not have hired Saban in 1999/2000. Do you think this program benefitted from Saban being here for only 5 years and then jumping ship?

I didn't say that... I do want the best of the best, but I don't want the best to leave 3-5 years into his contract when the dolphins come or any other professional team comes calling.

If the NFL comes calling, that means we probably won an NC. I'll take that in a heartbeat, even if it means we're looking for a new coach in 3 years.

Why take two chances on coaches that have never proven they can get the job done. That's at least an 8 year mistake if you're wrong. Stick with the formula that has led to the best 17 years of LSU football in program history: hire a proven head coach that has had success at a major program.

There is no need to follow your plan and take a chance, much less two.

Been saying this all along. Much better than going out and getting a bum who can't recruit down here.

Yeah stay away from coaches up north, like Michigan. They could never have succes in the south and that theory has never been proven wrong for 17 straight years.

Problem solved

As long as it's other people's money and accountability.

Let's lower the bar more and hire the equipment manager. He's from LA too.

If that's your plan why not just hire Aranda now? It's not the worst idea in the world IMO

The most stupid part about this is the HC in waiting. If coach O has success he would be coach way longer than 3 years. Aranda isn't stupid enough to be named coach in waiting after essentially a new hire. Makes no damn sense. Hey let's hire a coach and name another one the coach in waiting

You think this bump makes you smart? You want Orgeron to hire a "gun slingin OC"? You do realize that Orgeron stands on the sidelines listening to itunes while the offensive coaches on staff are calling the game right? Why are you praising O for the offense when he has absolutely zero to do with what is happening out there?

I literally never see Coach O do or say anything on his headset.
