Petrino is going to get a call or an interview or both. Was told today, Petrino will be contacted and potentially interviewed. Strictly a contingency. Not the leader. A one loss Coach O would be about equal on the wish list to Petrino. The Florida game not happening was bad for O. Stock was rising rapidly. Could have peeled off 4 straight going into Bama.

Who's the leader? And how's that looking?

Anyone but Brian Kelly.

Edit to add or Petrino. That guy will be here one day, gone the next and we will be in this same thread. Very unlikely he leaves the cupboard like Miles did when he goes.

Anything new with other potential candidates?

Jimbo I think. It's a coin flip with Herman and Jimbo. I think Jimbo is the safe pick, Herman has the higher ceiling. That's how they see it.

I don't think you can lose with either of those picks if we're so fortunate

could Gase get a look if canned in Miami and the other two are out? I know he had interest in the job as an OC.

Personally want Herman but I'd still be pumped about having Jimbo as our HC. Do their recent losses hold any weight on their decisions? Or make contacting them any easier?

I'll ask about Adam Gase. LSU needs someone that will beat the streets and grind on the recruiting trail. NFL guys usually don't have that in them. Some do though.

If they're willing to look at Petrino despite that buyout, I'm encouraged. Tells me money is no object in this search and they're willing to do what it takes.

If Orgeron wins out, I'm assuming we have to give it to him?

Thank you for posting. The info is always appreciated!

If you had to guess, could you share who you thinks lands the job ultimately?

From the previous post it appears he's option D, which sounds about right.

Have there been any off the wall names that have surprised you?

I'm surprised by this, even as a contingency plan. Didn't he ruffle some feathers of some of the higher ups and donors last time around?

Is Fuentes being mentioned? Petrino with a legit DC would work for me. People change, or not.

he didn't kiss Skip's rings and after he and saban had several battles of ego, I don't think he was all too eager to sign up for another one he'd butt heads with.

if Petrino has much decency he'd stay loyal to UL, they did bail him out of the out house.
