Ok. In Cali, there is:
USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford

Well not just that. Cali is the #1 recruiting grounds for all major players in the Pac12. Arizona St, Oregon, Washington, Boise St, Utah all get their bigtime players there.

You think those schools are getting much talent from the northwest or Arizona?

How often do those schools beat SC on the recruiting trail?

I can't say that i keep up with Pac12 recruiting battles, but i would assume Oregon, Stanford, and UCLA do quite well in head to head matchups.

And? You don't think that will change?

You claimed USC had better recruiting than LSU. Then when someone gives you EVIDENCE that what you said was false, you say maybe the information will change???

Even knowing that LSU's about to put 10 more players in the NFL next year?

Come on, at least try.

for instance...

Washington has 2 4*s from Cali (Anaheim actually)
Oregon has 2 4*s from LA
Arizona has 3 4*s from southern cali.

I'm gonna guess those guys wouldve been 'takes' for USC given the current state of the program.

No question SC has been a mess since Carroll. The NCAA issue along with bad coaching hires.

Over the long haul USC should have more talent than LSU. They should have more talent than most anybody in the country. That's not a shot at LSU.

He's going to be working his arse off 10 months of the year anyway. Not like he's going to be surfing or hitting the clubs. He'll have the money to spend his vacation time anywhere in the world he wants to go.

Recruiting. You have to work a lot harder at USC on this front (and probably do more shady stuff) than in BR.

Herman and his wife met while they were both attending Cal Davis. He wants the Texas job the most and I think he will stay at UH if he thinks it will open up in a year. Both Texas and USC have easier paths to the playoff than LSU. The fans also have lower expectations than those in Baton Rouge. And both Los Angeles and Austin are nicer places to live than Baton Rouge. The taxes in L.A. are an issue but there are ways to alleviate that pain to some degree. If Texas continues to have a down year, look for Herman to stay at UH if the Longhorns don't fire Strong.

That is true, but LSU hasn't always been able to pull that off. What was LSU football before Saban?

LSU is 12th all-time in Division I-A football wins. USC is 9th. USC only has 50 more all-time wins than LSU so it's not like LSU is a historical scrub.

Tell me how I'm wrong.

The south (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida) has greater amounts of talent than the west (Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico).

LSU is an SEC team and the only recruiting player in the most talent rich state per capita.

LSU has more players in the NFL than USC.

The above is true, so tell me how it is easier to recruit at USC over LSU.

Edit: Look, I know USC is a top job and it basically recruits itself. I'm just saying our situation geographically is ideal for recruiting top tier talent every year and fairly easily.

LSU has exactly 2 more players in the league than USC. Might be because we haven't been worth a damn since the NCAA sanctions.

Joey Freshwater is a douchebag, but he was right when he said that out West you get more skill position talent than in the deep South, but when it comes to front seven types, there's no competition. South wins going away.

Someone posted earlier that USC has 27 active roster players in the NFL. LSU has 45. Was he wrong?

USC coaching records since John Robinson:
1983 Ted Tollner 26-20-1
1987 Larry Smith 44-25-3
1992 John Robinson (again) 37-21-2
1998 Paul Hackett 20-17
2001 Pete Carroll 83-19
2010 Lane Kiffin 28-15
2013 Ed Orgeron 6-2
2014 Steve Sarkisian 12-6
2015 Clay Helton 6-4

Except for Carroll, since 1983, they are 179-110-6. That's a 0.617 winning rate.

USC's perception was built in the era through John Robinson's first tenure. Since then, with the exception of Pete Carroll, they have been very average. If it were such a good job, surely at least 1 of their other 8 hires would have made it so.

Not even close joker.... you looking at everything a college coach is not looking at. LSU is Top dog, only big dog, in a state richer in talent than any other. Better big time stadium and atmosphere only show in town !!!
