Nothing is a done deal until released through official channels. Not the redneck whispering game. Not player tweets. Not snake-in-the-grass press leaks.

The Athletic Director or designated representative WILL take the podium and announce that Coach Miles has been fired. It is POSSIBLE (although unlikely) that his replacement will be announced at the same time. It is far more likely that days, weeks or even months pass before the "deal is done" as they say - and that's on the head coach.

The assistants are another matter altogether.

I heard the same thing except that Pelini wasn't a done deal. He was Jimbo's #1 target though. Here is what I posted.

DALSU, I'm hearing also it's done for 5 years $30 million. Blank check for assistants. Jimbo's top choice for DC is Pellini but no gaurantee Pellini wants the DC job. Very reputable source. Is all this already known? ...

I'm not saying it is going to happen but I know for a fact that quite a few major boosters are convinced Jimbo is a done deal.

Agreed. Reheating leftovers rarely works in coaching.

If you had said:

Jimbo as HC
Saban as DC
Tom Herman as OC
Beamer coming back as special teams
and Alleva getting replaced by Trev Alberts as AD

I might've believed you but I'm inclined to say you're pulling our legs with your facetious lineup.

You're right, I shouldn't have said done deal. I'm hearing from a very reliable source it's done and we will know by Monday. It's just a waiting game at this point. I'm just sharing what I've heard.
