He isn't Miles, same with any other coach mentioned.

This sounds like what someone posted the other day, (I'll accept 3 or 4 losses if it's exciting) which is the biggest crock of shite I have ever read on here.

Yes I know that. McElwain was in the same boat. Everyone knew it was just a matter of time before he was going to be hired as a HC. My point is he was given time to develop his head coaching style and given a chance to try out some things to see what works for him and what doesn't work. I just think one year is not enough time to make a decision of this magnitude.

I agree somewhat with what you are saying, however I would really rather LSU be competitive in the losses than the blowouts of late. The Auburn game last season really hurt.. that was just so atrocious.. then the 3 straight double digit losses this season were ugly.. it just makes the program look even worse..

you can build more on competitive losses.. but when you are getting blown out there is a negative/doubting mentality that can develop.

I like Herman but in no way should he be in contention for a job like LSU or USCw after one year as a HC. You have to show you can recruit, manage and sustain a program.

I'm much more impressed by guys like Fuente who build success at crappy programs than by guys who enjoy immediate success at good programs.

Don't forget, Gus Malzahn was a genius after his first year at Auburn, too.

The love for Herman is much simpler than what you are making it out to be.

Herman engineered the offense to take down the mighty bama machine.

1) you sound like you have no idea what you are talking about

2) fuente is gojng to VT

3) houston is a "good program"??
So thats why they fired their coach and brought in herman, right??

4) herman was able to get ed oliver to commit to UH...over offers from UT aTm and....yep, LSU.

5) gus malzahn, was a proven OC who was given an opportunity to become a head coach, so you are right that herman and malzahn have that in common. But your still a moran.

Good x's and o's coach. My only fear of hiring an up and comer is the hit we'd take in recruiting until he got established. With a Jimbo or Chip Kelly, we'd probably add more to the class already in place.

And I've heard that Herman is heading to Southern Cal.

He's the future of coaching. 40 years old, a great recruiter, and a brilliant offensive mind.
