If you're getting your sporting news from the mothership, you may be watching fake news.

I would hate to see us bring "the blur" to LSU - remember what happens to Oregon's offense every time the come up against an elite front 7.

Did he call plays under Kelly?

I am not "lsutigers9458" sure, but I believe he did call the plays. It was Chip's offense though. Chip Kelly brought in very bright people around him. So, I think he knows his football, but isnt the guy to motivate a bunch of 20 year olds into playing like elites.

If Coach O had it his way, this coach staff will be like the A-Team baw.

Bringing in helfrich is like getting Kendal briles. You're not getting the mastermind; the guy you really want. So you're hoping to get lucky by hiring a disciple.

If I was an LSU fan I'd be excited that helfrich is bringing that offense, but that's about it. Oregon's success was all about Kelly. The play calling as soon as Kelly left was different. The team fell off the map when mariota left.

I would be ecstatic if we brought in Helfrich

Except Helfrich has a history of success as an OC/QB Coach prior to working at Oregon

They played in the NC game, twice. I'm sure they never faced an elite DL along the way both times. :eyeroll:

Not really, he spent a couple seasons each at Arizona state and Colorado (when their decline began) before landing at Oregon in 09.

It's Kelly's offense, not his.

Edit- im not saying it's a bad hire, and you have every reason to be excited. I'm just saying that Kelly was the mastermind, and it might not be an absolute home run hire. It's akin to hiring Kendal briles (who is an awful play caller). I'd still be excited the offense is coming.
