I live in Waco and work at Baylor. He turned down both Tx Tech and Texas to stay at Baylor. I think he is done rebuilding programs. He also just bought a big ranch on the Bosque River. He will retire at Baylor and pass the baton to his son, Kendall. His offense might be a 'gimmick,' as some on this board have stated, but it would do much better than the crap currently being put on the field. LSU has been running that same toss-dive since I was a student there in the 80s.

Good luck getting him out of the state of Texas.

People are making too big a deal of this. It isn't as if Louisiana is a cross country move.

Wouldn't it be a clever distraction to let Fisher's name "leak" so that all our attention is focused on FSU, all the while a deal with Briles gets worked on without the scrutiny of prying eyes.

I dont think LSU would go to that length, and if anything, I think its a ploy by Jimbo's agent to get a raise.

Tx Tech =/= LSU, not even close.

And you know without a doubt he turned down Texas? Texas is also a different animal just based on how much glad handing has to be involved. Texas has a political/PR side that has to be handled as well as the football side. While the political/PR side exists at other big schools, its definitely not to the same degree it would be at Texas. As much as Texas loves football, they seem very indifferent most of the time. At LSU and most SEC schools, the fanbase lives and breathes college football.

Do I think Briles would come to LSU? No, but there are reasons there that could lead him to such a decision.

Equally as credible as a random guy on this board. Both are unsubstantiated.

That bull shite offense will be eaten alive by SEC defenses.

I am so sick of hearing this shite. What SEC defenses are you referring to? Our shitshow of an offense hung 35 pts on Florida's vaunted D. Or do you mean Arkansas's D that got lit up earlier this year by a Big 12 offense in Tech or the one that gave up 40+ to State? Or Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, A&M? LSU's?

The only defense in the league that would have a prayer against Baylor's offense is Bama's and maybe Florida's because of their secondary. Baylor would run down Florida's throats if the passing game got stuffed.

But Briles is not leaving Texas and is too old already.

I don't see Briles in the SEC. That defense optional philosophy aint going to work.

It is the Texas HS coaching networks he is unwilling to give up. He has been a leader in this group and knows everyone who coaches in this state. He has a knack for finding overlooked talent and his staff credit his networks for this. Of course, that could work well for LSU recruiting Texas.

Tech is his adopted alma mater. Credits his experiences with the school for helping him overcome the loss of both parents after they were killed in a car wreck after one of his games. And yes, he did tell Texas no. And there are no politics at LSU? Please.

OU was the first team Baylor played with a pulse and look what happened. Besides, after ther rape victim's lawyers get through with BU and Briles nobody will touch him.
