The guy is kind of old, but I don't think that fire has been put out just yet. He seems like he still has a chip on his shoulder and wants back in the SEC.

My prediction = South Carolina. They have a history of hiring successful coaches in their older years, and I think they pull the trigger. This would be a good hire IMO.

Yay or Nay?

Tubbs is a poor mans Spurrier these days. He would put the same amount of effort into recruiting without the Spurrierness to compensate. Would be a bad move.

He has ties to Miami, and he would be a good fit in SC. The real issue is how hungry is he? Does he want to go back to recruiting and pressure of the SEC?

To me it seems like he's still bent about being fired from Auburn, which IMO was a stupid move. I think he'd roll into Columbia with something to prove.

He's younger than Butch Davis, whose name keeps getting tossed around.

He still goes back to auburn. He was there a few weeks ago for a game. Seems to have a good relationship with the school still. I find that odd but to each their own I guess.

South Carolina's got to get out of the retirement party business. Wouldn't be surprised if they went after Frank Beamer with their last two coaches.

If your son was a walk-on QB at AU, you would go to games when the team you coach has a bye.

Didn't know he had a son in the team. I thought he still went back before that though?

IIRC, Tuberville's son is a walkon or player at Auburn,.

I think he built a multi million dollar mansion in Auburn before he resigned and still has it.

I don't think Tubbs has the fire to hit the recruiting trail and do the off field stuff necessary to win in the SEC.

USC AD has gone out and said he is looking for a young coach, so the trend will probably break
