Stanford coach David Shaw won't interview with the 49ers for their coaching vacancy, according to a source.
Bleacher Report reported Wednesday that the 49ers plan to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, and that once they are done with Jackson, "expect that they're also going to have an interview with David Shaw of Stanford.
"They are interested in both. They want to get to know both."
Shaw has no plans to interview with the 49ers, the source said.
Shaw, who has won the Pac-12 title three of the past four years, negotiated his contract extension with the Cardinal in 2012 and has repeatedly said he intends to coach his alma mater for many years.

Stanford is like a peaceful paradise and the 49ers are operated by inmates from an asylum. I would stay at Stanford too.

He has it made at Stanford. No need to join the 9ers' shitshow.

I'm sure Shaw's predecessor at Stanford gave the 49ers a glowing recommendation.

Not to mention the players at Stanford may be a little more coachable than those on the 49ers.

This probably has more to do with Harbaugh giving a bad Yelp review than Shaws loyalty
If the colts had come calling I think he'd listen

It amazes me how a lot of NFL people think college coaches at really good programs will drop everything and crawl on their hands and knees through broken glass the second even a sh###y NFL organization shows any interest. The expectation level and arrogance of many NFL fanbases and organizations towards head coaches dwarfs even the big time college programs. Shaw would be crazy to leave Stanford for San Fran.

The 9ers might have to settle for a Norv or a Chan Gailey.

I'm shocked that he didn't at least talk with them. Most coaches would use that situation to milk a little more cash out of the cow.

Shaw has said he wants to coach at Stanford until his kids graduate from there...

Shaw is a Stanford graduate. I may be naive but I don't think he would do that to his alma mater.

I'd stay at Stanford and keep winning with a bunch of white boys.

Spurrier, saban, Carroll, Kelly and harbaugh. Those are 5 of the best college coaches of the last 15-20 years or so and they left successful college jobs to take a shot at the nfl. Only stoops and Meyer haven't made the jump. Look at butch Davis, he left the greatest assembly of talent in college football history to coach the browns.
I do agree Shaw would be crazy to leave but his style would fit the nfl very well.
