Coaching Changes Board nostalgia: Craziest year?

2007-08: Miles to Michigan pt. 1. After the Arky game, everyone was saying good riddance. Jon Tenuta to go with him...? The Sunday after the SEC championship game, he was everyone's hero. Then Pelini took the HC job at Nebraska and LSU settled on BBQ grillmasters Mallveto, setting up:
2008-09: Goodbye Mallveto, hello new defensive staff. Jon Tenuta? Dwayne Walker? Chavis? Chavis was the seemingly "safe" hire, but we were excited when LSU hired Cooper from the South Carolina and Haley from the Bears to come with him. Ed O was rumored to be joining the staff at one point as well.
2009-10: Fire Crowton? No? frick! Things were interesting elsewhere... Leach debacle at Texas Tech. Was Urban stepping down from Florida or not? Pete Carroll to the pros, Kiffin to USC, Tennessee rioted and then hired Derek Dooley, who everyone from North Louisiana swore was the second coming of Saban, but couldn't seem to explain why. Kiffin's departure enabled LSU to get Frank Wilson.
2010-11: Miles to Michigan pt. 2? Had lunch with Brandon in BR! Pelini a rumored replacement? Oh no! Extension. Fire Crowton? No? Wait, he's "strongly encouraged" to look elsewhere, leading to that sucker Edsall to hire him at Maryland. Fuente a done deal? Again LSU went with a seemingly safe choice in Kragthorpe. Reaction was WTF at first due to his recent track record at Louisville, but then most people warmed up to it. Urban finally left Florida and Muschamp replaced him. Tressel was out at OSU because of tattoo-gate.
2014-15: A&M swoops in out of nowhere and hires Chavis. Three weeks later after much speculation (Pendergast, Shoop, Stoops, Ed O, Smart), Steele is named DC and everyone is pissed. BUT, at long last, Ed O joins the staff at LSU, where he's meant to be. WILD BOYZ
What say you?

I remember when Terry Saban was scoping out real estate on Highland Rd. back in '07-08. Spurrier was also practically on his knees begging to be Miles' successor.

The Saban/Texas thread(s) last year :rotflmao:
It was some funny shite. You had "insniders" coming up with outlandish stuff, Bama fans that pretended they were too cool to care, Bama fans melting and everything in between.

The jimmies were highly rustled in Northern Alabama - I think that was just hours away from being agreed upon when Nicky got cold feet. He got a nice bump out of it, though...
$100 million dollars - it's obscene to even think about it, but we're only about 3 or 4 years away from a college coach signing such a contract, I think - next time they may try Meyer...

he was definitely in talks with them. It was too quiet before he got his raise. Mack Browns clown arse had to be drug to the curb kicking and screaming and saban wanted no part of that crap at texas. Too much political BS.

I wasn't around for Miles to Michigan part 1 but part 2 was awesome. I remember refreshing like crazy but the hamsters weren't getting it done.

I think Saban to Texas because Chicken was stirring the pot
It was propoganda and click bait at its essence. I loved the Miles to Michigan with the Dominos Pizza plane.

Well he is not a good coach. 49ers does not want him

He will jump back to NFL after a few years.

Saban last year was juicy bc of the bad real estate deals/rumors

Lol. Hours from being agreed to? Oil wells and millions of debt paid off, right? Has the Doc ever logged back in?

Bruh, my aunt was showing houses to Terry Saban in West Austin at about that time.
ETA -- She even got me a signed pic of Terry that I didn't want.
