Go watch the video of UT vs UTEP in the thread Chicken started, pg 3 I think. If that's a representation of Gilbert's offense then hell no. That is terrible.

What you saw IS the spread. I hate watching the spread personally but it puts points on the board. Gilbert's spread is no different than most other spread offenses.

Well I guess I don't like the spread. Was like the middle of the field was off limits.

I hate watching lining up in tight formation and running into a ten man front so to each their own. I much rather watch a spread attack. I only watched about 3-4 mins of the UTEP video, but I rarely saw them try to pass to the middle of the field.

I don't know if they just didn't want the QB to throw INTs or what. I hope he would use the whole field.

Forgive me, but I'm quite ignorant on Matt Canada. Can someone briefly explain why he's been such a hot commodity lately?

I know dude. It's ugly, boring, and soft. Doesn't feel like I'm watching real football.

Pitt has an amazing offense-- especially when you consider their lack of talent.

Do we really want a Canadian running our offense?

Well -- a French Canadian is okay, right?

Chip Kelly revolutionized the way you attack with the spread this way and now you see everyone doing it. Your success is predicated on wearing out the defense's interior linemen by running them sideline to sideline then gashing them up the middle.

ETA: You hit the defense with screens and five and ten yard outs initially. Chip puts his whole team on special diets because he likes his team lighter so they can withstand the fast pace and because his defenses are on the field a lot.

He's being thorough and net being pressured into making a bad hire.

I'm glad Kiffin isn't likely to join our staff. That guy is toxic every place he lands. He will destroy Houston.

I agree. It's crunch time in recruiting. Get someone now so recruits know who they are looking at.

Looks coach O is looking at the right people...

Gilbert is the only one I'd be excited about. Matt Canada would be okay, but I wouldn't be excited.

Helfrich would not be good.

Invite Brennan to all the interviews behind a one way glass window and let him pick the one he likes best......

gilbert- the guy who, in a game with a 250 lb/200+ yd rb, ran the "18 wheeler" with the tyrone swoopes qb keeper on 3rd and 4th and 1.

both failed.

My preference in order:
Canada
Gilbert
Helfrich

According to most sources, Kiffin was the 1st choice. Now that it looks like he is out of play, Canada and Gilbert are by far our best options. IMO, the only reason we should offer Helfrich is if Canada and Gilbert decline or go else where. All aboard for team Canada!

Because LSU utilized the middle of the field so often under Miles?
