Among those likely to get a look for the LSU job are former Texas offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert, Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Matt Canada and former Oregon coach Mark Helfrich.

Looks coach O is looking at the right people...

I'm in with Canada as well - lots of power 5 experience - still not too old - great success at Pitt this yer and history of developing QBs

Not so much sold on Helfrich, but Gilbert and Canada look very promising, especially with reports of Orgeron wanting the power spread offense.

Would prefer Gilbert or Canada running the power spread. I might be in the minority, but I think Helfrich and his Oregon offense won't work in the SEC.

People who want Sterlin Gilbert know nothing about football. Talk about a bad hire. It would be him.

Go watch the video of UT vs UTEP in the thread Chicken started, pg 3 I think. If that's a representation of Gilbert's offense then hell no. That is terrible.

I think Random said Helfrich so Canada is probably correct.

Do we really want a Canadian running our offense?

This, and I really think it would be hard to argue with. I would be ecstatic with Canada or Gilbert though. Helfrich scares me a little bit, especially as a recruiter.

There really are some good OC candidates out there. I think we'll do well with our hire.
