Already seeing where chip is the guy

It makes sense and a great fit

Cal has all the resources it needs. There is always a way to get kids there.

Cal is an Under Armour school so we'll see if the Nike thing is true.

Remember when Dykes suicide bombed Louisiana Tech's football program with JUCOs just to propel himself to a power five school?

Get fricked Sonny.

Cal's defense is worse than Oregon's and there is no heir apparent at qb. You're also competing against Petersen and Shaw. I would've loved Chip back at Oregon but having a coach with a personality like Taggart has been a breath of fresh air. Cal makes sense location wise but it's a huge risk.

Najee Harris hasn't arrived in Alabama yet, right?

Chip + Najee, it could be Christmas in January in Berkeley!

This is going to be Christmas or a nightmare. There is an equal chance that Dykes did something dumb.

Dykes in the past 13 months has reportedly interview with South Carolina, Mizzou, Virginia, and Baylor.

It was clear Sonny Dykes no longer wanted to be at Cal. He interviewed at other schools the last three seasons, which, sources told ESPN, angered those inside Cal's athletic administration to the point many were hopeful he was hired somewhere else – namely Baylor this year. There was also a belief that the department – which is running at a deficit of approximately $20 million a year – could not justify his buyout ($5.88 million). One way to explain today's strange timing is if the school now believes it can hire a coach whose salary would be offset by money owed by a previous employer, making the buyout doable. One such coach: former Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who was fired by the 49ers last week.

Cal must have some tech nerds with deep pockets and will land chip, he won't need to move

It's just interesting timing at this point to fire the HC unless they've got someone already lined up (i.e. Chip).

I wonder where Dykes goes now, I doubt any teams are knocking down doors to fire their HC just to bring him in. Will someone fire an OC though? Much more likely, but he might not be willing to take that step down.

If Cal fans think they're getting Chip and end up with Spavital, I'll LOL so hard,

That said, if Chip goes there, the Pac-12 North instantly has the best set of coaches in the country.
