Did I say "terrible OC"? Why are you changing my words?

I embarrassed you because you did no research on him and made baseless claims about how he sucked

Never said he sucked. Please link the post where I said that.

He's been an OC for a long time, seems like a career OC, and I'm not that impressed with him. Sorry.

Anymore shite you'd like to make up?

Waiting on those links. Get to work buddy.

It's amazing that people actually think briles will be a coach at a major college like LSU

LINK

quote:

Do we just want all sluggish hires? I thought LSU wanted to best upcoming talent?

quote:

Matt Canada has been at OC level since 1997, and has received no head coach offers. What is this board seeing that no other schools see?

quote:

Does anyone care about track records anymore?

quote:

I'm tired of these hires. Damnit. Why doesn't LSU want the best and brightest?

I guess it would just prove the line of thinking at LSU

So you compared a matt canada hire to an ed orgeron hire. Which is so far from the truth to begin. With your entire thread was bitching about why would lsu want him, he is a career OC, same type of hire as O. Just ragging on the guy. Then you ask about his track record indicating you had done zero research on him before your post.

Now why don't you tell me about all my wrong information you accused me of. Where are those links i requested? Why is it always the dumbest people who scream the loudest. Just quiet down, please. It would really imrpove TD.

Instead of trying to deflect back to me and nitpick at every word i say, how about you actually tell me where i am factually wrong about briles.

Briles wouldn't hurt recruiting. If anything he might could help it. LSU is starving for an offensive minded philosophy.

This isn't a girls gymnastics team he's recruiting. It's grown arse men football.

Could bring Stidham. Could develop Brennan. Could fix our QB problem.

People are afraid of what?? A bad public response? Espn and all the networks hate us anyway. Nobody cares about Louisiana, they all think we are trash anyway, which we aren't...

Hire Briles. End this nonsense

hear hear..

First, it's "hear, hear". Second, it would absolutely be a horrible reputational risk for LSU to hire Briles. You don't care about LSU as an institution if you support his hiring.

Exactly. LSU needs to get over the "we are better than this" attitude. We need all the help we can get. We are already an after thought in the college football world. Put your personal feelings aside and hire someone that will win. Briles/Aranda is about as good as it gets for our current situation.

I am an LSU fan who does not want to sell LSU's soul just to win. Argue all you want about what happened, did not happen, who did/not do/know what, it's a fact that Briles' reputation is horrible & I do not want him walking into a recruit's house with a shirt on representing LSU. An "after thought"? LSU was pre season #5 in most all of the polls. Look at some of Stovall's & Hallman's seasons: LSU is no where near being that bad. I do hope that LSU is better than this.

This is the way I feel. I can overlook at lot of things in order to win football games, and I mean things like "bending" recruiting rules and taking advantage of PEDs. Ultimately, if "caught", those things only affect football. I don't want to risk sullying the reputation of LSU as an institution by hiring Briles.

We just Hired a DL coach with one of the worst Records in College football as our head coach.. Our reputation is shite and the SEC is laughing at us right now.. Briles might be the only OC that can save Oregeron.

I know exactly what went on.. I know a member of the coaching staff very well.. Briles was indeed the fall guy, then the Board of regents found out it went higher and got rid of them.. This stuff went above briles plain and simple..

It's one thing to be a drunk (as long as you don't get behind the wheel) or have consensual sex with college girls. When you're a position of power and allegations of rape are brought to you and you just ignore it, that's a different legal area. Giant fricking difference.
Again, there's a reason Baylor canned the guy and Houston dashed out a press release saying they weren't talking to him. Let him rehab his image at Idaho State or Slippery Rock, not LSU.
