- Had his guy since day 1 and would have been hired already baring Kelly makes CFP (which would cause us to have to wait even longer which would be tough on the recruiting end)

- Riley rumors were strictly from Riley and his agent and Woodward did not shut them down because he did not care having already made his choice. Also would make since given no prominent source actually had any real piece of reporting of Lincoln to LSU.

- Big Name. Whether you like it or not Kelly has had a huge winning percentage as a Head Coach and has brought ND to many BCS and CFP appearances while continuing to recruit and reload well. (Yes ND isn’t playing in SEC or even Big Ten but no one we hire will have the 5 championships and perfect resume)

- Finally timeline and what JV said yesterday make sense to wait and see whether a 1 loss ND is behind other teams making it impossible, even with upsets, for them to break into final 4. If this were to be case tomorrow night, Kelly will get announced.

- Also, Mark Stoops and even Lane would have been announced already if they were even considered candidates at all so they need to stop being brought up.

- It all makes sense, AND it would be a fantastic hire! Despite the melt it would cause.

We're even buying him a Prairieville home with a 600,000 cap.

I don't see him coming down here, but I wouldn't melt if he did, the hire wouldn't be as horrible as some are making it seem.

Man, he’s a great coach and I wouldn’t mind him. But he’s not really that great of a cultural fit. I just can’t see him roaming the sidelines for some reason.

I didn't like it at first because 60 seems too old to be starting over, but I'm quickly warming up to the idea. Brain Kelly would be an excellent hire IMO

My friend, who is a ND alum and huge football fan, would fly him down to BR on his dime. He hates him despite his winning. Makes some bone head decisions evidently. He can’t stand the guy and he is pretty even keel as a person.

Don't see him fitting in well either. Don't know why. I just don't.

My only concern with Kelly is can he recruit at an elite level here. He’s been consistently top 15 at ND, but that’s probably been his undoing in the postseason.

If he can be consistent top 5/10, he could win titles here

Be better than stoops but I don't think it's him. That's not big enough of a hire to fire. Your coach in the middle of the year.

Was Nick Saban a cultural fit? Was Bill Arnsparger?

LSU's program has a TERRIBLE culture right now. A no-nonsense hardass is exactly what it needs.

If this is Woodward's number one then that is downright sad. Where is the $12 million push for Rhule or Fickell? We need a program builder not someone who can take the reigns for 4-5 years before going to a home.

Buddy LSU recruits itself. You think half these 19 year olds wanted to listen to yaw yaw crawfish boil all day? They wanted to play at LSU.
