Proven in a big school setting. SEC caliber schools.

Hey, Saban won us an NC and then fell on his face in the pros....some people can't transition up.

Maybe we'll hire him, win a NC and I'll eat my pants, but I hope we get someone else. My opinion only, like it or not, I don't really care

I have a simple question, "If the need arises for a new coach who would you like to see LSU hire?"

As we found out after Saban left it is very hard to get an established coach from a big school to jump ship. I not saying it can't happen just saying it doesn't happen often. I for one would be happy with a Brian Kelly hire. He has been successful everywhere he has coached.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but all these rumors of Saban and Spurrier are pure speculation and BS at best. These guys are not coming to LSU, period!

No more than you smart boy, tell me why these would leave to come here. Or, if I am clueless, tell me how you know they would come?

Here is an interesting article where he does not close the door on the possibility of leaving Cincinnati after one year.

I hope we at least feel him out ot see if there is any interest.

Your dead right.
signed,

Steve Spurrier at Duke
Bobby Bowden from WV
Jimmy Johnson via La Tech/Okie State
Bear Bryant via Maryland/Ky
Jim Tressel via Youngstown State
Urban Meyer via Bowling Green/Utah

Kelly is a damn good coach and whoever gets him hits a homerun. "Book It"

We don't need to be a testbed for up and coming coaches.

I don;t know anything about Kelly and don;t follow Cincinatti. No opinion on him as a coach for LSU. But ever since Charlie Mac retired, every hire has been no better than an up and coming coach. Arnsbarger might be the outlier.

Brian Kelly is a damn good coach, extremely well respected, and WILL be the coach of a MAJOR program within 2 years.

Anyone who thinks otherwise really has no clue what they're talking about. People want so called "proven" coaches because they have heard of them. What we need is the right coach.

do we really believe that good coaches come from big time schools? are we that stupid? you search for winners. Kelly is a winner. it's simple. Miles has done well here and kelly is much better at winning when you look at past careers.

SunTiger you are spot on. Your list proves that big time coaches can come from small schools, even 1-AA schools. I like this guy

I'm a big Brian Kelly fan. He doesn't have the reputation or Div-I Championship like a Sabin, Spurrier, etc.

But that gives him one thing they don't have. The hunger to prove himself.

I think he is the best and most realistic candidate out there should we have a need.
Personally, I hope, by this time next week he is Brian Kelly coach of the LSU Tigers!!
