I sincerely hope that Brandon offered everything he had to offer to get Les to come home, if he just offered a token and not a serious one he doesn't deserve to be the AD. This is the biggest hoke/joke that has been played on Michigan in its history. There had to be another coach that would have come that actually had respectable credentials.. Mullin/Patterson/Petersen a number of people would have been pleased to become the highest paid coach in cfb Michigan has the money to pay whatever needed to be paid to get someone in there and they instead chose once again to hold the purse strings tight and it cost them.. The team is in shambles and we are coming off the worst 3 year run in our history and the entire nation sees us as a gigantic joke right now and this it appears is the punchline.

Not the best hire, but could have done worse.

Who exactly would have been worse? the dude has had more losing seasons than winning ones and has a career losing record as a head coach. You all are upset because of a 8-5 record but Hoke is ok for Michigan.. please this place would be going through the roof if we took miles and you hired Hoke..

i'm sure les was either offered or they came to gauge his interest.

but hoke has been staring at his cell phone for days...

it wasn't gonna take long.

I really just can't believe that out of all the coaches out there this is the best we could come up with.

That was my first thought. After all the "we are willing to spend whatever it takes to get a coach to take us back to the top" rhetoric, it appears that is all it was.....rhetoric.

Hoke may turn out to the the best HC in the history of UM football, but it sure looks like he was the third choice, or maybe even lower. The AD deserves some criticism that he did not have his guy lined up when he fired RR.

With Hoke, Michigan looked a little desperate not to get turned down again.

Are you sure? Does he have a losing record as a head coach?

Can't wait til we find out what we offered him. If it's more than what RR made, I'm going to lose my shite. Guys need another full time LSU fan? lol.

It wont be popular, but it's the right hire imo.

I'm cool with it.

Hiring to please a fan base is one of the most retarded things you can do... Aubie fans were pretty ticked off by Gene Chizik... that worked out pretty well.

Rumors were always that Hoke was Brandon's first choice and that the national coaching search was to quell the fan base.

Sorry Michigan fans. From what most of you on here have been saying, that's not who you wanted.

How will that play out in the eyes of the fans?

I hope it works out for Michigan but the hire wouldn't excite me. It just seems silly to go down a list of strictly Michigan guys. Why limit yourself. You can hire from outside and find someone who fits without finding RR part 2.

I might auction my fandom off on Ebay! I have been a fan for over 25 years but this is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

You're obviously not familiar with the history of our basketball program.
