Just saw UNC give Fedora a 7 year extension...whats the guarantee he is going to have a similarrecord for the next 7 years??

It won't prevent UNC from firing him in 3 years if he craters.

why should you care. It is the free market system right? or are you a damn POTUS man and a socialist?

The whole claim of "I need at least a 4 year contract" for recruiting is a tactic of coaches/agents that has apparently become the norm. It's really quite stupid.

they are showing him the love since UNC is not a FB power school. It could be that schools came asking for him and this was their way of rewarding his loyalty. Dont be a hater for a man getting what he can in this kind of profession.

It will cost them more when they fire him though.

So if he jumps ship they get paid more?
Also he is the best coach they have had there in a long time so they probably will do everything they can to keep him.

How much more, though? I doubt he has an obscene buyout.

Never thought I'd say this about Chizik, but he was the difference in their season.

State laws against more than a 1 year contract could fix this.

No shite. A&M should be able to fire Sumlin after he shits the bed next season, but won't be able to.

Why is it so stupid? It doesn't have to be a 4 yr contract, but your contract is an indicator as to how committed you are to your school and your school is to you. I firmly believe Miles will struggle next year with recruits due to his uncertain future with LSU. The same would be true if coaches were only give 1 year contracts or some other extreme.

What a pile of idiots, after watching the Clemson game tonight I wouldn't give that guy a plugged nickel.
It's not that they lost, but the idiot seemingly can't count. Twice in the late stages of the game, they score a TD to make it a 13pt game and the moron kicks the extra point instead of going for 2 both times.

Uh, no it isn't.
Coaching for taxpayer subsidized schools, with salaries financed through tax deductible donations = socialism, not free-market.
Now admittedly many people who call themselves "free market conservatives" are the biggest advocates of government subsidies for business; but they are really just right wing socialists.
