At the end of the day, it's a game.

A game played by college kids.

If you think it's something more than that, if you live and die based on this shite, then you are invested in the wrong things.

I wanted somebody other than O, but I'm happy for O and ready to embrace him.

Wrong.... it's a multi hundred million dollar business. The game is just a function of the business

Agree.

This is all some of these superfans have in their lives though, so they are invested like they're part of the team. It's really sad.

This is where I'm at. I was bummed for a solid hour or so this morning but I like the guy and hope he has great success. It's nice to see people achieve their dream.

Thanks for the critique of die hard fans. I'm surprised that you diegned to descend from your enlightened Nirvana of balanced living to bestow your wisdom on the poor misguided.

You know a coaching hire must be disappointing when the only response is to retreat from the sport altogether.

It's a game that has a million dollar impact on the local economy as well as drawing people to LSU academically. frick you. If we suck, that has real life consequences for A LOT of people.

Hey, I wanted to win but we lost. I'm ready to embrace the L. Snuggle up to it. Accept it.

You are partially right in the fact that it is just a game played by college kids whose education is paid for by the good people of the State of Louisiana. You are incorrect in the fact that it is just a game. Are you aware that Tiger Athletics supplements the University? This is a multi-million dollar business that depends on T-shirt sales, shite with LSU on it, ticket sales,TV, etc. which said revenue is directly proportional to one fricking thing. Winning.

I do infer from your post that many fans are to "invested" in this as consumers. It is the result of being sold/marketed a bill of goods by this University.

Today changes everything. We backslide to the early 1980's with this hire. But you know what? Today is the fricking day I stop being so invested. There are a lot of other things to do with our time.

Truer words have never been spoken. I'll drop in the young men whose lives can be changed for the better or the worse depending leaderships successes or failures.
