On the bizare chance miles went to arkansas would any hog fans want him? This would be a very unpopular hire.

Happy is a feeling and with Arkansas being a state I doubt that it has a positive or negative feeling towards Les Miles other than the fact that he eats its grass.

With that in mind I would say Arkansas is quite neutral on Les Miles.

You've posted in more threads about Arkansas today than most of our posters have. Strong work.

I wouldn't be happy at all. I don't know if I would be more shocked that we offered or that he accepted the offer. Les Miles was an average coach at best when he was at Oklahoma St which is a program that I personally put on the same level as Arkansas. Les Miles would not win at the same level at Arkansas. He would have a severe recruiting disadvantage compared to where he is now. I don't think Jeff Long is stupid enough to think Les Miles is the answer to our problems.

I'm starting to think you guys want the man, you just don't want to be seen coveting something from LSU.

Most everybody on my twitter and FB feed were freaking out doomsday style at the thought.

Les gets made fun of on local radio almost daily.

A girl on twitter offered to donate lottery winnings to the school to make sure miles never coaches at arkansas.

I thought it was a good cause till I read tiger rant. Maybe set him up with a Dana Altman situation just to watch the meltdown.

Amazing that Hog fans are that against getting a top 5 coach in the country. I guess that's why y'all will always be a 2nd-tier school. Now good luck with whatever bottom dwelling coach you end up with.

I'm sure it would be unpopular. Their past coaches have been a lot more successful than Les Miles.

Absolutely hilarious that Arky made an offer and Les turned them down.

LES MILES TURNED DOWN ARKY!

People were downright distraught around here when it looked like we were after Miles.

You don't apparently know much about OSU's history then if you think OSU is on Arkansas's level, at least historically. OSU record through 2011: 533-523-48. Arkansas through 2011: 679-456-40. OSU had a losing record overall until just the last few years. Les was the winningest coach in more than 30 years prior to his tenure at OSU. He success at OSU is very comparable to Saban's at MSU, a historically more successful program than OSU.

Would Miles win at the same level at Arkansas as at LSU? Probably not. But neither would Saban. Spurrier doesn't win at the same level at South Carolina that he won at Florida. Would all of three coaches be successful at Arkansas? Probably. LSU, Bama, Florida all have built in advantages over Arkansas and all have programs for which success is easier, but not guaranteed. All three programs have gone through major downturns despite their advantages when they haven't had the right coaches. Miles isn't a success just because he is at LSU. Plenty of coaches have failed at LSU. He is successful because he is a good coach, and he is in a place where he can be successful.

I guess my post was going off of Oklahoma State's recent history and potential in the future.

Bottom line is Les Miles is not who Arkansas needs if they it wants to elevate itself from its current position. Les Miles has done a great job at LSU but I don't think his strengths are what Arkansas needs. Arkansas needs a high level X and O guy, that can develop lower end talent. I don't feel like Les Miles is that guy.

you need to do some research, osu was horrible before miles coached there. to say he was average at osu is flat out wrong.

It's these same morons that think that Les has done well here because of Saban, but give Gundy all the credit in the world for OSUs recent success. Fact is Les >Petrino and Malzhan.
