Have you never seen one of these coaching changes unfold? No coach ever expressed interest at a press conference. Many have said they are nowhere near interested and end up leaving. Do you really believe if Scott comes in with an offer he would say no to stay at Baylor?

You can be gleefully happy at a place and still leave for a better opportunity. It happens all the time.

Also, I would think that if someone is said to be on the "list" and then discovers that they are either not actually on said list, or have been taken out of consideration, they would naturally then declare that they have no interest in the job. It's called saving face.
