He's been outstanding at Bama, but who wouldn't besides Cam Cameron(shots fired). Is he really the best OC out there for the money we are willing to pay? And if he does come would O reign him in like Saban does when needed.

I think there are better options but I am happy in the sense that hiring him would finally be a recognition that we need a change in offensive philosophy

Eh. He'll improve the offense, and at worst, he's here for a few years before he accepts a head gig and we'll throw money at someone else.

I'm not. He has some very questionable play calling choices.

Most of it is covered up because he is coaching the best team

I don't like the way he goes away from each run game alot of times.

LSU has some of the best rb in the country, I believe sometimes that is why him andown Saban are at odds.

Although Saban wanted some change he is still a guy that wants to win with defense and the running game

I wouldn't worry about it. It's not happening. He's probably taking a HC job

Like him, hate him, he is the hybrid between a power pro-set and nibble spread. This fits the s.e.c. well. There are times you need to impose your will on a team and times you have to attack a teams weakness to move the ball. He does both well.

LSU needs a O.C. that can recruit qb's, create an offense to the strength's of the team. He seams to do this well if you look at the three qb's at bama. Totally different skill sets and used their strengths.

I do find it funny that people feel he's ready for a h.c. job but not qualified for the lsu o.c. job.

If he comes here I would be fine with it. I don't like his play calling at times, but he's done some incredible things with what many thought were very mediocre QBs. He knows how to develop players and run a good offense.

That's an emphatic no. Kiffin is slightly above average OC, and excellent POS. He is great at catering to the talent at his disposal though. Similar to Aranda in that respect.

I'm not. There are quite a few great OCs/small school offensive-minded coaches that would do a great job.

The people that want Kiffin only want him because he coaches for Bama and "taking him away from Bama" is some type of moral victory for them. They have no idea if he is the best available, or really anything about him at all. They just know that Bama has him so they want him.

Same reason they wanted O as HC. So Bama didn't steal him. Flawless fricking logic.

His play calling can get short sighted and stubborn mid game. But he can without a doubt develop a QB and a productive offense. I wouldn't bitch about it if we got him.

I'm not sold at all.

Count me in for Matt Canada, though it won't happen.

I mean I just think he's a douche bag.

As a coach, x's and o's wise, he's elite.

This is what people wanted to hear including Alleva. Ohhhh you're going to take Kiffin from Alabama?? You're hired. That's what your "plan" is? Great I'm sold. Although his "plan" sounds great. How realistic is it that he gets Kiffin? His contract is up, yes. But will Alabama just let him walk away and say oh ok no big deal? No, I would imagine they will offer him more money especially if its LSU they are bidding against.

And no I'm not sold either.

And I don't get that logic (taking him because Bama had him) - isn't Kiffin the guy who Saban has had years of learning his tendencies, etc?
