That or his heart isn't in it here in Lubbock. Cant claim him. Thats who Tech should've gotten in the first place. Would've made perfect sense.

Charly Strong was passed over and over and over for coaching positions while he was a DC at florida before Louisville. Krag had to kick off alot of thugs that Petrino recruited at Louisville so it took him too long( and was subsequently fired for it), but the talent he brought in has kept Strong above water. I beleive Strong will be exposed in a few years.

The real defensive Guru on that Florida staff was Greg Mattison (who I wanted as DC when Sherman was hired). Look what he has done with Michigan's defense in 1 year.

People forget Charlie Strong was DC at South Carolina where he had good defenses before he was hired at UF. Furthermore, Kragthorpe was shitty at Louisville and didn't leave Charlie with much of anything. Charlie is starting a true freshman at QB in Bridgewater and is going to a bowl game. And, that true freshman QB was highly recruited. Check out Strong's recruiting at Louisville. He's getting good players to come there. Strong to A&M would be a good hire.

I like Sumlin as a #1 choice out of the rumored candidates.

After that I like Fedora, Strong, Smart in that order.

Nothing against Kirby but I just prefer a guy with HC experience and Texas ties for recruiting purposes. I would also always be worried that Smart would jump to Georgia if Richt ever severely falters.

Art Briles. He's from Texas, he knows Texas, he knows Houston, he can recruit the area, he put Houston and Baylor back on the map. And unless he is just in love with Baylor and wouldn't ever leave, I think it might be possible to get him.

It's pretty obvious guys. ASU backed off of Sumiln for a reason. He will be the HC of Texas A&M no later than Tuesday.

Yall need to get rid of Dollar Bill before he signs a contract. The buyout's he has saddled yall with and the way he has handled things there have been awful.

Strong was passed over for HC jobs because of biases not because of coaching ability. His resume has been shining everywhere he has been.

I'm on the Strong bandwagon. He's the only coach anyone has mentioned that has head coaching and SEC experience. He turned Louisville around quickly. If Sherman can come into A&M and recruit like crazy I see no reason why he couldn't. As long as he puts together a good staff he could be amazing. But alas we'll probably hire Sumlin and continue our streak of mediocrity.

How much is Strong's buyout, didn't he just sign a 7 year contract?
