Doubtful. Underwood maybe, but Moore and Berry are definitely not following him to Michigan.

I was thrilled with the Kelly hire, and still am. However, I don't care who comes calling, no raises and no extensions until some hardware is in the trophy case. if he wants to flirt for a raise, call his bluff. if he goes before he wins anything, well bye.

I agree. The HC does not make LSU. We've won with 3 different coaches. There are enough resources, infrastructure and support for a quality coach to win here. I want Kelly to stay, but he's not indispensable.

Would his legacy be tainted if he jumped to a program coming off an undefeated, national championship season and won another title?

The state of the program is not going to prevent a coach from leaving to go to a program he wants to go to. I cannot put it any more simply.

I don't know if Kelly wants to go to Michigan, or if Michigan even wants him. But how good things appear to be headed here will be meaninglessly inconsequential if he simply covets the Michigan job.

I agree with this. I would have no issue loading some additional incentives based on accomplishments though. Those are win/win

It probably doesn't help that the LSU Lakes look terrible and he has to see that when it sits on his porch.

Brian Kelly’s contract: He’s one of the highest paid coaches in the country. 10 million a year right? Buyout would be crazy, he has job security. You think Michigan is gonna pay more than LSU who might offer him a raise?

If Michigan wants to hire Kelly his buyout for leaving is only $3 million.

quote:

Coaching contracts generally include a seven-figure buyout that a coach must pay for leaving a job before his contract expires. Kelly’s buyout, for instance, would be $4 million if he departs LSU before Dec. 31, 2022. His exit fee drops to $3 million in 2023 and $2 million in ’24.

Les Miles had a few years better than that and never had a Heisman winner. I think he had 2 finalists?

BK isn't leaving LSU for Michigan. It would end his career.

You should include a link to the press conference where Kelly himself said, "Lsu is the last stop for me, I want to win a championship at LSU" Those words (or something very similar) came out of the mans mouth.
"I will not be the Alabama Coach."

Those words came out of the man named Nick Sabans's mouth.

As an Auburn fan, I hope LSU keeps Kelly.

I'd be scared to think what LSU could do with a better coach
