Well it's either that or go back to college and have to recruit again. He seems to hate recruiting more than anything.

Wonder what Jax thinks about him? Bortles, Yeldon, Lee, Robinson. Don't forget Shoelace, there are some pieces there

Just imagine the spare parts he could trade them for. Also Bortles sucks.

We don't have the stones to make such a move IMO, right now or a year from now. I would love it though

He's totally jumped the shark. It's a gimmick offense that won't be nearly as effective now that so many teams run it.

Not saying it won't still be effective but he's not some mastermind. Tempo is not groundbreaking.

Aranda and Canada > Kelly and this is from someone that said the O hire was a disgrace.

He has consulted with them on no huddle offense, so it would be a good fit for him if he were interested.

Personally don't care for Chip. His offensive style worked for Oregon to win the PAC12 but that's about it. Pretty weak.

He's also got the racism accusations hanging over him.

LSU fans complained about how stubborn Miles was and how he refused to adapt and his offense became archaic. Many similarities with Chip forcing a round peg into a square hole. Chip's offense has been figured out but he refuses to change.

He reminds me of Paul Westhead when he ran that fast break shite with Loyola Marymount and tried it in Denver.

Yep, being a college HC is much more of a 24/7/365 job than a NFL HC job is. At least in the NFL you have a real offseason, in college the offseason is spent living on the road trying to convince 17 year old kids to come to your school

Paul westhead system worked loll Denver lead the NBA in scoring and made the playoffs. He got ran out of town when he botched the Chris Jackson anthem situation and ran the best purr shooter in the NBA out of town for no reason

Chips teams. ,has a good coach. Taking the 49er job was a mistake. His qb at Philly was San Bradford, the man is coach not a miracle worker

His offense will never ever work at the NFL level as designed. Too much speed and he wears his defenses out.

College it could work if he has superior skill players but as proven, fails when he faces NFL caliber lines. I just don't think his system is unstoppable now that teams have had time to adjust.

has there been an NFL coach to have 3 different jobs in 3 seasons? The jags are a joke so I guess this could happen.

they did already interview Coughlin who would not only be a retread hire, but he'd have a 2nd stint with the Jags.

I don't know if they hire another inexperienced head coach like Gus Bradley. My guess is they wouldn't.

so, sure I could see them trying to hire Chip. It would be a horrible fit but it was a horrible fit for him in San Fran too.

He hates it because of the technicalities of recruiting. He needs to go spend a couple of years with Saban to learn how to pay players and win Championships without scrutiny.

That's due to the recruiting aspect. In college football, a head coach has to be a hands-on recruiter. A HC can delegate on-field coaching like Dabo does or Bowden and Paterno did during their later years but you really cannot delegate recruiting. Head coaches have to be actively involved, be comfortable in recruits' living rooms, shake some hands, create ties with high school football coaches, etc... That's just something Chip did not like to do.

Very true, which is weird because he was pretty good at it. He could have become a God in cfb had he not made the jump.
