Does that just about sum things up? What a lazy hire. After Bloody Sunday I thought Joe was serious. Boy were we fooled! This reeks of a panic hire after a coach hauls arse unexpectedly, not a move you've been planning since 2008.
In all seriousness, I hope Ed dominates but Joe must go.

You guys knock the binder of plans, but it was obviously more than Herman presented.

I didn't hear any raves about Jimbo's or Herman's interviews. We heard O killed it.

Think of all the binders Joe left on the table.

If Joe lost the bidding war with UT (a war LSU can't win) you'd roast him for it.

No, I understand how money works. Now, I might get in a bidding war just drive the price up, walk away & frick Texas. I'm roasting Joe because he interviewed 2 candidates.
By comparison Skip interviewed no less than 5 candidates when Nick left on Christmas Day. Les was hired on January 2nd.

The binder, the former players, the locker room video, the Pete Carroll call... all of that is just excuses and BS.

Alleva was not allowed to open up the big pockets and write the big check. That's the only thing that really explains all of this. Herman to Texas for $5 million, announcing O before Fisher was even done with his season? Not even trying to go after a sitting head coach at another program?

We weren't willing to pay the big bucks. That's it. That's all there is. The people higher up in the admin and the politicos didn't want to see that ESPN crawl with a huge LSU multimillion dollar deal on it.

No, one little wiener felon with a binder didn't get him this job, as much as he'd like to believe it.

Alleva is being the worst negotiator in history is what did it. He had a narrow list of candidates, putting him at the mercy of two veteran agents, and he got left standing around with his dick in his hand.

He thought O would be great bargaining leverage but the other agents correctly laughed in his face, causing his fricking vagina to bleed. He pretty much had to hire O at that point, or begin the search again, thereby admitting that he's an idiot who doesn't know how to run a sports program.

Next fall, he will expel the entire team for not raping chicks on campus.

Did Alleva even conduct interviews with anyone other than O?

I thought the primary contacts with Jimbo and Herman were through third parties.

I think under the circumstances, Alleva did the best he could. He wasn't alone. Others were involved in this. At the end of the day, Fisher really didn't want to leave Florida St, Herman was going to go to Texas, and Coach O had all his ducks in a row and evidently laid out a pretty decent strategic plan to bring LSU football back.

Let's give the man a chance.

You have to have noticed the improvement that O made after taking over. That factored as well. And, we could still make a move if there is ever interest from a top coach. At least we are in a position to make a move at any time we need to.

I can't get over the binder. Someone being prepared for a 7 figure job interview, impresses you enough to shut it down?

This entire board knows the things to say in O's position at that interview.

At the very least don't leak that the binder was impressive. LSU isn't even playing checkers anymore.

Herman was the hunted, not the hunter. Big difference.

The team did improve. However, almost every team in all sports get a jolt after firing its head coach. Not to mention miles was really f'n up so there was a lot of areas to improve at.
