Please help me understand why a coach who is having success at a BCS School would leave for UM? Their recruiting has not been great and the program is awaiting an NCAA ruling and possible sanctions.

Because every guy rumored to go there played there. No name has been mentioned yet that isn't a Michigan
alum.

1.) It's the all time winningest college program of all times.
2.) One of the most prestigious college programs.
a. Lots of money every year.
b. Lots of pub whether they deserve it or not.
3.) Part of college footballs most talked about rivalries with tOSU.
4.) Can recruit nationally.
5.) In a BCS conference.
6.) Gets to go to the Rose Bowl (which is a big deal to some people) if they win their conference.
7.) Large fan base and lots of famus alumni like Charles Woodson, Tom Brady, Desmond Howard and has three Heisman trophies.

I realized that as I was typing it. I think Michigan gets a slight edge though since they play in a conference and will soon have a conference championship.

It's not. A new head coach will have to adapt to a mobile QB spread style offense, if he doesn't he sets the program back four years. Not to mention the lack of talent on defense.

Very much like the UT job was when we settled on Dooley.

Big program with no depth, talent, and a roster that only knows transition. Coupled with a fan base that expects to win right away.

As the proud holder of a law degree from Michigan, I strongly resemble that remark.

maybe, unless he can recruit some stud pro-style QB right away...and eventually move Robinson to RB...
