Byrnes' Bentley turns down Auburn offer

quote:

Bentley confirmed he recently received the offer from newly named Tigers coach Gus Malzahn. But as he headed to the parking lot after taking in the Shrine Bowl at Gibbs Stadium Saturday, Bentley said he was staying put.

“I’m staying at Byrnes and I want to be here and that’s what I’m going to do,” Bentley said. “Gus and I are good friends. … I’m just going to leave it at that.”

This guy knows that Auburn is going to continue to crash and burn under Gus. How bad is it Auburn fans when a High School assistant coach turns down a job at Auburn.

This Gus hire will set Auburn back 10 years.

Tubbs is the best coach Auburn has ever had and they let a drunk with a rotten liver talk them into firing him.

Stupid decision. Could've likely made more money in 1 year than he does in 2 or 3 in high school, not to mention moving his career forward.

Who wants to bet that his wife complained about time it would take him from home???

Ummm, maybe the guy just wanted to keep coaching high school ball rather than have the pressure and time constraints of the college level?

You guys care way too much about this crap. Go do something.

I am dan, you can leave with that crap. He dumb. Stupid decision and it does look bad having a high school coach turn you down.

Again though, prolly had something to do with a complaining woman more so than AU, IMO.
