I agree. Great hire. Kind of like LSU hiring DiNardo who had just gotten beat 65-0 in his last game at Vanderbilt.
Gene is on a 10 game losing streak and then hired for $2 mil per at Auburn. Quite frankly, he's the luckiest guy in the world because I-State was gonna fire his arse next year.

Has Auburn offered any explaination for this hire. Truly unbelievable. Gotta be a practical joke. His only claim to fame is being the DC of the undefeated AU team. But wait they just fired the head coach of that team.
The really crazy thing is that the AU AD didnt hire this guy on his own. Lowder and a search committee were involved. Mass insanity?
