I will not be taking the Michigan job. This was not said.

I'm sorry to me " off the record " means to me the job is still up in the air and is possibly wanting to see what they offer.

This comment is ALL about the $$$$$$$$

Off the record is because he doesn't want to say anything that could be embarrassing to Michigan. The only story here is that Miles isn't interested, and Tiger nation can sleep at ease now.

What is the difference between on the record and off the record if the information is made public? Is michigan less embarrassed now?

I think there is a level of respect in not allowing a direct quote. Sorry you can't understand the difference.

When it is reported as fact by espn, there is no difference.

i'm with you on this one, cluckster

it seems that he's trying to avoid the saban stuff from miami where that clip of him denying leaving miami is left in the halls of infamy

in terms of affecting UM, it's obvious that denying UM is denying UM. a direct quote shouldn't affect UM at all

He wanted his quote, not his point, off the record

Michigan job is not in consideration. But when Harbaugh is officially off the table THEN it's in consideration. My job is to wait and be silent. Know your role

If something is said "off the record" that should not be reported by the media. Isn't that the same thing as "can you keep a secret"?

What was Shea Dixon thinking when he tweeted this?
quote:

Les Miles asked to go "off the record" with many comments, but ultimately what we just learned is that he's not going to Michigan. #LSU
Is that professional in any way?

I see you have a great pulse on the fan base's feelings on this issue.

i don't need to make it anymore true

people saying "OMG! IT WAS OFF THE RECORD!" doesn't make it any less true

rantards on a message board are not the pulse of the fanbase

Seriously, I always thought off the record meant you did not report it.

If not why bothering say "off the record"?

I thought it was typically used when a source might not want to be named but give information.

Nope. But your definitive statements about it like you really know for sure whats going to happen are cute.

I think we all know its a longshot he leaves. But there is always the chance.
