So bama started winning again because its cyclical and not because they got a better coach? Samething for florida when they dumped zook for meyer? Samething for mahlzahn after dumping chizik? They dont get the credit? Its all just cyclical?

How many days between chizik's title and firing?
Chizik went winless in the SEC after buying Cam Newton

that's a hell of a job of twisting my words
its wasn't very hard to get a better coach the shula, zook, and chizik.

and bama finished 2006 with a 6-6 record and a losing SEC record
In 2005 LSU was trailing Bama by 3 in overtime and faced a 3rd and goal. Les Miles suggested running the football to ensure at worst, a game tying field goal. Jimbo Fisher sent in a passing play and said, "We're playing to win right here."
Jamarcus Russell found Dwayne Bowe in the endzone for the Tiger victory.

In fact, sometimes people are more truthful to their beliefs on here than they would be in real life.
i doubt the difference in truth. this board is a great study of personal beliefs. the posts are but a reflection of personal esteem. we are seeing into the hearts of the posters.
haters gotta hate comes from self esteem issues.
abe lincoln said "people are gonna be as happy as they make their minds up to be"
haters NEVER want to be honest about themselves and have to use blame or denial to live each day.
Socrates: "The unexamined life is not worth living"
weak people would rather judge than reflect on their own shortcomings.
could any coach succeed w/ the attitudes of the rantard society? rantards think they are helping, but really they are just in denial about their own lives. AND, their lives are not really bad, but thinking makes it so.

thats 2 posts in a row that are full of shite.
it was 3rd and 7 from the 12....and i'm pretty sure they were confident enough in the kicker to make a 29 yard field goal had the pass been incomplete
are you done now?

Choctaw and russian have similar styles

Choctaw - how many years would you be content as a fan with 8,9,10 wins if those seasons don't lead to SEC championships or playoff appearances?
Would that be ok with you for say the next 6 or 7 years? Or would there be a point at which you would think the program was a capable of more?
Honest question.

Most people I talk to off the board are firmly in the negatiger camp.
surprise, surprise, surprise!
people are attracted to people of equal mental health.
haters gotta hate!

This works both ways. This is why we have "unrealistic" people on both sides of this discussion. Truth is somewhere in the middle.

depending on circumstances....like a boatload of juniors leaving for the NFL...i would say he needs to win the SEC within the next 3 seasons

the next 6-7 years? no

Boatloads of Jrs leaving may be the norm from here on out at LSU.
So even though the records and winning % would still be in the upper echelon in college football you would be willing to fire Miles if he doesn't win an SEC championship in 3 years?
I'm curious why that would be the breaking point?

Fact, Les wanted to run the ball. Jimbo said, we're playing to win.

I remember the one about jimbo getting in a shouting match with Les in the locker room after the tennessee debacle in 05. Was pissed we took the air out the ball. I have no doubt thats why he left.

What is the difference between on the record and off the record if the information is made public? Is michigan less embarrassed now?
Well, if you have a high-profile coach announce, "I wouldn't touch that shite show if they paid me $10 mil a year." (or something to that effect)
versus, "look, strictly off the record, -- Michigan is a dead program and there really isn't anyone that can bring it back. I'm certainly not their guy."
yeah, I think Michigan is definitely less embarrassed with him taking the "off the record" route.

Of course you don't believe me. You refuse to believe that out of the thousands of posters on this board, nobody has any contact with guys that coach at LSU. Literally thousands of posters have been on this site over the years. Are you that naive to think that none of them have any contact with coaches at LSU and other schools? How do you know that I don't know people within the program? Just because somethings are said that aren't 100% pro-Les Miles/LSU doesn't make those statements incorrect.
