How was his D's at Cleveland or Jacksonville?

And I'm curious how LSU took a look at him. As the DC? Well, he's just a position coach. So it's great that y'all didn't hire him to fun your D. Thanks for the scraps!

that's not true. here are the rankings for his defenses.

26
23
28
6
30
30
30

so he had one good year at Jacksonville.

Yeah, that bears defense including the secondary was a real beast this year.

One would think that LSU fans, of all people, would realize the gap between a position coach and a coordinator.

Some of you have a short memory. Kevin Steele, while a sold coach, didn't have a great go
of it as DC or head coach. He was basically demoted after 2007 at Alabama as well. And was even out of coaching as support staff in 2013.

Tuner may not work out, but he's a former NFL DC with eight years experience doing so. He's also very familiar with Nick Saban. I think we will take our chances with a position coach.

Tucker has not had much success but Saban is familiar with him and must like him, same can be said for Steele. As an LSU fan I just hope Steele has learned a few things since the last time he was a DC. I don't think Tucker is some kind of big swing here, Saban is really the DB coach.

I think everyone overestimates the amount of input Saban has on the secondary. Sure, he gives a good deal of instruction, but why would he waste a spot on a DB coach if they don't really do anything?

Then again, Bobby Williams is still on the staff. He must have pictures of Saban with Mrs. Edwards

I don't know about you, Cap, but those emoticons have made me question Saban's ability.

They're still angry over their awful defensive coordinator downgrade.
