I guess he would be a good fix there, but who would want Rex Ryan? He sucked at the Jets.

one could argue that he was handicapped by the GM's personnel decisions.
Rex is a player's coach though and that kinda addresses the problems they had with Harbaugh (nobody liked him)

He's the NFL version of Muschamp. Fantastic defensive coach but can't field an offense to save his life.

His GMs failed him on the offensive side of the ball horribly. I'd still rather an external hire be offensive, we don't need Rex to fix the defense.

His QBs were Sanchez and Geno Smith in a QB driven league
Hard to know if rex can't field a good offense with that level of QB play
