Started this book yesterday and it is not a bad read. Pretty easy but should bring about some interesting ideas.

Just checking in. I'm halfway through and haven't come across many discussion-worthy passages. But there's so much familiar content, the author's influence on Sowell is evident.

Yes a lot of the Applied lessons are just the basic lesson with different context around it. We've kind of talked through that stuff already so agree the second half of the book hasn't been as discussion worthy. Still a great read, through. I'm sure we will have more discussion for the next book.

With Applied Economics being 60% through this week, it's time to think about our next selection. It looks like those participating regularly want to shift gears to the other side of the spectrum. Shall we go straight for the source material itself and read the Communist Manifesto next?

FYI I picked up the Penguin Classics edition with the 186 page introduction. That way we aren't just reading the relatively dry manifesto itself.
By the way, in the event no one else is around anymore

I'm looking for a Kindle version and noticed they have several. Most versions seem to range from 30- 70 pages. Can that be right?
The intro you're going to read is many times longer than the actual book?
