Well, that didn't last very long. The New Orleans Saints on Tuesday traded future Hall of Fame RB Adrian Peterson to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional late-round pick.

"I'm so ecstatic," Peterson texted NFL Network's Stacey Dales following the trade.

6th round pick. AP is done. He won't do much in Arizona and he will retire back to Minnesota at season's end.

AP wanted the carries. To get the carries he had to be on field. He was yelling at Peyton about the above.

I have no idea why the Saints acquired AP in the first place. This bolsters the argument of those who say that the Saints aren't very good at building an NFL roster in a purposeful, organized and intelligent manner.

Or it was brilliant as they knew someone would need a RB around this time since RBs are always hurt, so they figured they could get some value out of it. Obviously it backfired when they received a conditional pick. They probably thought they could get a guaranteed pick or a veteran position of need out of it. Not a bad strategy, though.
