Former Jacksonville Jaguars employee Samuel Arthur Thompson, 53, was sentenced to 220 years in federal prison by a judge in Jacksonville on Monday. Thompson had previously been convicted in November of producing, receiving and possessing sexual images of children, violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and hacking the Jaguars' Jumbotron screen after the team did not retain him because of his status as a sexual offender.

I know someone that got caught with child pornography and got 1-2 years. There's more to this story than just that. Unless he filmed or caused it to happen.

Thompson was convicted of sodomizing of a 14-year-old male child in Alabama in 1998. This is why they lowered the boom, and rightfully so.

Once you unlawfully sodomize a child your dick should never have the chance again. Out of jail, Free or not.

The death penalty, once tried and convicted for these kind of crimes, would be more apropos and farrrrrr less costly to we taxpayers.

You'd think so but in many places the death penalty includes a bunch of mandatory appeals etc. and ends up being incredibly expensive in the court system. Then a bunch of time on death row anyways.

Ironically a guilty plea (to avoid seeking death penalty) and rotting in prison ends up being cheaper to the taxpayer.

Alhunter is right. Death penalty is actually way more expensive.
