The Jacksonville Jaguars informed running back Leonard Fournette that they have voided the remaining guarantees in his four-year rookie contract due to his suspension late last month. Per ESPN:
quote:

The fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft was suspended without pay for the team's Dec. 2 game against Indianapolis after leaving the bench and getting into a fight with Buffalo defensive end Shaq Lawson on Nov. 25. Fournette lost nearly $100,000 in salary during the suspension. It could cost him $7.1 million more if the Jaguars decided to cut him with no guaranteed money remaining.

Fournette's standing with the Jaguars reached a new level of unrest Sunday in the season finale at Houston after he and fellow running back T.J. Yeldon spent most of the game on the bench, appearing disinterested in anything that was happening.

Fournette played in eight games this season and had 439 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He had 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns during his rookie campaign in 2017.

Not a fan of Fournette. Quit on his team while at LSU, and appears he has taken "his game" to a new low. I would say his signing has been a bust so far.

If I remember right he was hurt in the bowl game. Coughlin is a hard nosed coach. Easy to see players bumping egos with him.

He threw in the towel when Miles was fired.

I'm so sick of, he quit on his team.. Do y'all realize how much money he was going to get? This is generational money... All he had to do was not get hurt in one game ..can you blame him, he isn't from money in the family, to say the least. Plus he was questionable with that ankle anyway .

I wonder if he regrets skipping that bowl game?

Why would he regret skipping the bowl?

May be a little early to declare him a bust but he is currently headed down that road.

It’s not about talent. It’s all about attitude and professionalism.

Disappointed in Fournette for a few reasons but the Jaguars waisted their short window to compete for a championship on Blake Bortles and all the players know it. Its all about the situation. He goes to a different/better franchise it's a different story. Hopefully next season he plays more football and makes less of an arse of himself.

LF will not succeed anywhere with his attitude.

Life lessons should be learned from this but I have a feeling there will be none of that.

If he stuck to entertainment and didn't engage in hot topic political issues, I might care. I'm glad he has opinions, I just don't want to hear them.

Not only a bust but a stupid bust. Anyone who is so stupid that he alienates his employer while he still has 7.1 million dollars guaranteed but acts so poorly that they want to cancel his contract guarantees deserves what he gets. This is the 1st step sending LF down the road. There is more to this than just sitting on the bench and acting like a nitwit. This is how an organization acts when they are fed up with a player's actions.

All that talent, and he's letting that money get to his head. He needs a wake up call...being cut would do him wonders

Rob 62 ...did you see him last year, not even healthy, bust runs that have never been seen since maybe Tony Dorsetts long run?99 yards I think... Fournette hit two big ones like that, and if I'm not mistaken, he set a record for top speed recorded on a football field.. Its new technology though, so may have been beaten before

Ah yes, that pinnacle of exemplary management of a sports franchise, the Jacksonville Jaguars. No offensive line. NONE. But hey, that's no reason franchise players should run into a brick wall or get dumped on their back for a pay check. And first chance ownership gets, cut the guarantees. That's what I call true money management efficiency. I imagine players all across the league can't wait to to play there. Awesome environment the team has over there.

Some of you don't get it. It is Fournette's stupidity that is causing his problems. He quit on his teammates at LSU and didn't play in the bowl game and now he is quitting on his team at Jacksonville. What a dumbass.

Maybe if the “Greedy” NFL stopped taking RS sophomores and JRs in the draft, they would get a more mature young man who is capable of “acting like a professional” instead of a 20 or 21 year old who acts like a teenager - The vast majority of these guys haven’t proven themselves as being capable of acting like men.... If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime...theme song to the TV series “Beretta”...

It's not all him. The Jaguars management doesn't give a shite about winning. Their line is garbage and they just want to get marquis players to use up and fill seats, like the Browns.
