LSU head coach Ed Orgeron addressed the media on Monday and talked about redshirt freshman Greedy Williams who has won the starting position at cornerback in just two games.

Williams takes over for Kevin Toliver who missed the season opener for un-disclosed reasons.
quote:

QUESTION: What have you thought now through two weeks of Greedy, obviously his first time being on the field? And then as a defensive coach, Aranda, how do you manage a guy, Kevin, who started last year and is coming back now with a guy who is playing so well?

COACH ORGERON: It's a good problem to have, obviously, that Greedy waited his turn. Someone blinked. He moved in. And he's holding on to that spot. He doesn't want to give it up. That's what we like about competition.

There's no sacred spots on our football team. We're going to play the best players regardless of seniority of anything. And we want the guys that are playing the best. And right now Greedy is doing that.

Tolliver should be opposite of him. Jackson scares me there.

Amen brother. DJ can play nickel. He gets burnt every game and it will cost us down the road.

I agree. Jackson has blazing speed, but his cover skills are really shaky at best. I though I was the only one that felt that way. Good to know it wasn't just me being unreasonable about my expectations.

So refreshing to hear stuff like this versus the loyalty-overload CLM possessed.

Since you started it, ill just echo. Heard a bit of a shot at the last regime in CEO comments. The man knows how to create competition and I think it'll pay off for us in bigger ways than previously seen.

He could easily have 4 INTs at this point.

Sorry, that was a pick. It would have been called incomplete if the defender wasn't there. Greedy got robbed.

Savage. So good to hear from a coach. O is making me feel way more confident about the season. The guys have to bring it every day and there's no question at all about it.

This is the Pete Carroll philosophy and I love it. When all this talent competes, it brings the best out of everyone. This will make you a very talented and deep football team.

New LSU motto for players should be “Don’t Blink”

A very good problem to have, indeed.

There is no sacred spot on the defense or offense in stark vegas. Tigers simply got whipped.

Can't believe Coach I called him greedy just because he's working hard to get playing time. SMH
