LSU head coach Brian Kelly stopped by the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. this week and spoke with the media about his busy offseason.

Kelly recently named quarterback coach Joe Sloan and wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton as co-offensive coordinators and talked about how play-calling duties will work:
quote:

"Joe will take the chief responsibilities and will certainly be the play-caller," Kelly said.

"Cortez will have a major role as well. At the end of the day, if you don't like the play call, you can see me and you can see Joe. I think we will have a clear delineation in terms of roles. Both are outstanding."

"It will be a team approach as we have great coaches. Brad Davis does a great job with the offensive line. Frank Wilson, Cortez, certainly. Slade Nagel is an experienced offensive coordinator from Tulane who has done great things. He gives us an experienced play-caller as well. I think we will lean on the group and Joe will get the lead in terms of the play-caller."
Sloan and Hankton joined LSU's staff in 2022 when Brian Kelly was named head coach. They served as co-offensive coordinators in LSU's 35-31 bowl win over Wisconsin, replacing former OC Mike Denbrock, who is now at Notre Dame.
