Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff landed a commitment from 2019 defensive tackle Joseph Evans on Sunday.

The 6-3, 305-pound prospect is from Haynesville, LA.

LSU now has seven verbal commits for the class of 2019 with the addition of Evans.

Good news but I hate verbal commits. You can't trust kids these days. They are worried about creating a circus so they can get in front of a camera and tell everyone where they are "taking their talents to"

I'm from Haynesville. This kid is a diamond in the rough. He's actually still growing was around 6'1 270lbs last year as a sophomore and is 6'2 300lbs as a junior. He comes from a very good blood line. Cousins Demetric and Doug played in the league for a long time. He is strong and very quick off the ball! He will be a great fit for the 5 technique in our 3-4 defense.

Demetric Evans was one of many elite talents to leave the state during the 90’s.

But, is he going to declare for the NFL Draft after his 3rd year? This is important you know since most folks that follow LSU on the rant didn't attend LSU and thinks every decent player should go pro after being in college 3 years. It helps LSU to plan for the future. ;-)

It's says you're a sheep. Why even scout players anymore? Let's just send out offers to players other people want. Would you feel better if he had a Baylor or ole Miss offer?

makes us and him look better if there is competition for a recruit we'll see who offers next
