Nick Saban Arrives At Georgia HS In Helicopter For Recruit Visit
Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports
I'd think it's a good day at high school when Nick Saban arrives via helicopter to come visit you. On Thursday, the Crimson Tide coach arrived at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga. to visit some recruits...

Les Miles would have fast roped out of it instead of landing on the soccer field like a wuss.

If you don't think that these kids don't find it cool that Saban flew in via helicopter to visit them... you're kidding yourself.

Saban announces his presence with authority. He knows what he's doing. The chopper is a symbol of Bama football and the strength and power it carries. Getting out of the chopper is the best coach in America. Another symbol of strength and power.
You think alot of kids don't want to be a part of that.

LSU head coach Les Miles arrived at the Evangel vs. St. Thomas More in style, flown in by a helicopter and dropped off outside the field so that he could watch offensive tackle target Jerry Tillery.

Miles' arrival put three LSU coaches on the sidelines, joined by tight end coach Steve Ensminger and offensive line coach Jeff Grimes.

But bama fans and bandwagon LSU fans keep on licking Saban's jockstrap.

I don't get the praise or lament for the mode of travel. It's under 200 miles away. Helicopter was wisest mode of transport for a very busy millionaire, whether it was contractor visiting a job site or a football coach on a recruiting trip.

Many other coaches do this as do business men.

Miles does it too but if anybody thinks Saban was first you must have missed Coach Summlin at Texas A&M using what is know as the "Swag Copter".
