Well explain the trade cap hit

If traded there would only be a cap hit of 1.8 mil. Trade wouldn't happen unless harper would agree to take a pay cut. All I'm saying is that he and. Ivory fit the jets needs. That's why the thread says possibility. Please read carefully before you reply.

There are two people involved in the proposed trade both at positions of need. Laron landry is also a liability in coverage, but had a Pro Bowl season with the Jets. I believe you guys are not understanding me I'm not saying that Harper is worth a third round pick but Harper and ivory could be worth a third round pick to a team needing a strong safety and a running back

there were rumors of saints possible trying to trade harper to the titans, reuniting him with williams. this is where i got the harper trade idea from. adding a rb like ivory could be tempting to a team like the jets because they just lost landry and have been searching for a legit back for a while now. plus i dont see ivory geeting much pt with the saints. also many "experts" have been talking about the saints trading down in the draft to recover their second round pick(see www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-path-to-the-draft/0ap2000000152445/Draft-war-room-Saints. as far as draft picks. i clearly said if available, and besides ryan swope which someone already pointed out, all those players are projected to be available in the said round. i believe that the saints could trade and land at least 4 of these guys without a problem. some of you get on here just to troll. get a life.

peazy...i see what youre saying. his signing bonuse is 1.8mil. honsestly id rather pay that and gather draft picks though. but thats because im not as high on harper as you are.

players with similar skill sets as harper have thrived in rex ryan's 34 scheme, he could be a better asset to them than the saints. ivory is oft injured, but he's better than what they currently have. sure they could find someone in the draft, but if we tendered him with a 2rounder, its evident that he has a decent amount of value. a 3rd and 6th the next year for two players that fit your scheme and needs is not asking to much at all. we gave up a 6th for a player we cut (rudd).

decent points i guess. but these are more detailed reasons of why it wouldnt happen. i dont believe that there are to many moving parts given the saints history of being very active when it comes to trading. the only thing im not familiar with is who is responsible for paying the salary/signing bonuses of traded players. i personally believe that harper is past his prime, and he fits the jets scheme even better (eg laron landry). and getting a safety late in the first round would be cheaper that having harper. Will this actually happen? probably not, but it is plausible.

trade possibility?

do you guys think we could package ivory and harper, and trade with someone like the jets for a 3rd this year and 6th next year. Then trade back and grab a second rounder. if available, draft vaccaro/elam with the first, jamie collins in round 2, brandon williams and dallas thomas/chris faulk/oday aboushi in 3rd, ryan swope in 4th, william gholston in the 5th, and ryan griffin in 6th. thoughts on something like this?
