Had Theus not jumped to be an NBA head coach and 2.2M annually he'd have left nmsu for a HIGH major program and people on this board would be salivating at prospect of luring him to LSU....

Haha thanks.....I just scratch my head trying to understand why people call out names like Donnie Tyndall when I know what Theus brings to the table...

He was an assistant with the Twolves until this season, Rambis was fired so he wasn't retained.
Runner up for USC and Depaul.....name has been mentioned for many other jobs but my guess would be after having quick success in college, jumping to the NBA making 2M+ a year the man prob doesn't want ...

Unimpressive coaching record?
Took over the Kings, who had one of the worst rosters in the league, and improved 5 games his first and only full season....got off to a bad start in year 2 and was fired after 24 games...if you dig deep into his time with the Kings they were killed with injuries to ...

Assistant to Kurt rambis two seasons until fired in Minnesota...runner up for USC and Depaul jobs when they were open...finalist at Illinois this spring....would win and win big at lsu...guy is a recruiter on par w best in game...

6-24 year before he took over..16-14 first season moving into WAC and 27-8 following year...good enough to jump to NBA but not good enough to interview at lsu??...

Took new Mexico state team that was 6-24 in sun belt to 27-8 in WAC to seasons later including near upset of Texas in first round of NCAA....landed top 15 recruit to las cruces, nm over Pitt, Memphis, and Kansas...head coach of Sacramento kings after two years at nmsu....guy is a superstar at colleg...
