re: "Georgia to host satellite camp with Michigan" - WHAT?! - saltydawg
We won't get every recruit in state. And if they're not going to Georgia, much better that they go OOC to somewhere like Michigan who we probably won't play....

re: Juwan Brisco Arrested... - saltydawg
We had kids arrested for "emerging from an alley" and "refusing to provide his middle name" is it really a stretch to think he was arrested for simply leaving his license at home? I don't
I agree this is the most plausible explanation. Trying to parse the wording of the charge ...

re: Juwan Brisco Arrested... - saltydawg
His MD license would still entitle him to drive in Georgia (unless the MD license was expired or suspended, in which case he would be charged one of those offenses). Totally separate, but there is an obligation to apply for a Georgia license if you are going to be domiciled in Georgia. But stude...

re: Juwan Brisco Arrested... - saltydawg
It's just the way it works and, unfortunately, the law is that he has to be arrested for not having it.
No, it's not. Nothing in the Georgia code requires an arrest for driving without a license on person (which we're all assuming is the charge here, as opposed to not having a lice...

That's ACCPD for you. Half their resources are spent harassing underage drinkers and pot smokers instead of solving important crimes....

re: If you went to an Ivy League school, would you not tell people? - saltydawg
Some Harvard folks say they "went to school in Boston" just to try to avoid the "well, aren't you a smarty" reaction of some people,
But then someone says, "Oh, BC or BU?" "Well, technically not in Boston, but nearby." "Cambridge." "Actually Harvard, not MIT." It's just as pretenti...
I understand, but it seemed kinda odd nonetheless. If I was him, I wouldn't bring it up but if the subject came up, I wouldn't be worried about telling my own life story.
It depends on who you're talking to. Some people react very poorly, even if it comes up organically in conversa...

re: Does living in Boston area suck? - saltydawg
I have never lived in a place without central air, and I can honestly only think of one person I know who doesn't have it.
This just depends where you are. None of the old construction has it. I'm in Harvard Square and don't have central air, nor do I know any friends who have it...

re: Does living in Boston area suck? - saltydawg
Google will tell you Boston is between 40% and 70% (depending on what site you're looking at) more expensive. I think it's closer to the higher end of that, and as noted before, your money will not go nearly as far in Boston. Is your company open to negotiating COL adjustment?...

re: Does living in Boston area suck? - saltydawg
But don't listen to the idiots who say it's miserable 8 months out of the year. It's not that fricking bad.
I may have a recency bias because of last year's winter. Still, it's not pretty for most of the year - summer is gorgeous, for sure, but that's basically May through...

re: Does living in Boston area suck? - saltydawg
Yes. It's extremely expensive and miserable for 8 months of the year. Most commutes are long since the highways are mostly 2 and 3 lane, and the T tends to have reliability issues (especially in winter months). Are you thinking about living in Boston or a suburb?...

re: 2016 UGA Recruiting Thread (commits, offers, visits, etc.) - saltydawg
That's right, Barstools. The dropoff in academic quality between Harvard/Stanford/other top schools and Notre Dame is much steeper than the dropoff between Notre Dame and UGA. Agreed that UGa Honors and Terry are crushing it right now. In the past 5 years, UGA has developed into a reliable feeder...

re: 2016 UGA Recruiting Thread (commits, offers, visits, etc.) - saltydawg
If we return to the schools with the most academic prestige... Stanford has it by a long shot (98 winners in school history), but interestingly UGA has nearly 50% more winners than Notre Dame (23 v. 16). There are a million ways to splice data and tell a story. Notre Dame may be perceived as ...
