re: I-65 Liquor store (Tennessee)

Frugal MacDoogal's was one of my favorite liquor stores when I lived in Nashville. Great selection of everything. It's right off of 65 in the southern area of downtown.
The thought does run through your mind that one of your tables is being occupied by a couple sharing a salad instead of a few people ordering apps, cocktails, expensive entrees, etc.
That being said, you expect these things when you are a server. Although preferable, you can't expect every table to come in and drop $200 and tip 25%. Bad tippers, rude guests, and inexpensive tables are all part of the job.

The atmosphere was good, waitstaff was friendly, food was a 7/10, cocktails were 5/10.
I had the filet with truffled mashed potatoes and asparagus. Ordered the steak MR but came out Medium Well. Although it was over-cooked, it was still pretty tasty.
Also had a Maker's Old Fashioned. They were out of orange slices and made the drink with an orange liqueur. Turned out pretty bad.
I would go back and give them another shot though. It seems like the place has potential.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Where would be the best grocery or liquor stores to find these?

Where to buy bottled beers from Louisiana breweries?
Posted by PetroLSU on 12/19/12 at 3:57 pm
I'm looking for a Christmas gift for my home-brewing beer snob of a brother-in-law. He lives in Tennessee and I figured a great gift idea would be to get him an assortment of local beers that he can't find in his home state. I have a few questions:
What are some good (small, not Abita) Louisiana breweries?
Where can I purchase their beers in bottles (Liquor stores with great selections)?
What would be some good choices of local APA's, IPA's, or sours?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
