re: Uca Astate, LRU, which of these schools would you attend - Porkmeister on 4/28/17 at 2:04 pm
But if it was a good Greenhouse Party there would be a couple hundred people there. I don't think the students today experience that. It was also cool having Hendrix in town, they had some good parties and their shirttails parties were fun and unique (a party that originated in 1913 after Hendrix ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Why is Hilton Head so popular? - Porkmeister on 9/24/16 at 9:11 am
Tybee Island is great. I've been taking the family there for years now. It isn't as crowded, it isn't overtaken by cookie cutter housing developments and giant hotels like Destin and Panama City. I like the history and culture in that part of Georgia. Hilton Head is too commercial. ...

re: Is Little Rock a shithole or a nice clean city? - Porkmeister on 8/23/16 at 12:39 pm
I love the roundabouts in Conway. Once you are used to them (and if the other drivers know what they are doing) they are great. I lived in Conway for over twenty years and it been pretty awesome to watch that little town grow. The downtown has real potential and the city is making a real effort t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: What's the next symbol to fall, post flag erasement? - Porkmeister on 6/23/15 at 11:49 am
I'm afraid this is the correct answer. The right thinking folks are going to lose their minds when they figure out the Arkansas flag is a battle flag cut down the middle then then put back together with the pieces inverted to make the diamond. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Newbie with a low post count has a question? - Porkmeister on 6/20/15 at 9:58 am
Maybe you didn't see the guy had a CONFEDERATE flag on his car! Didn't you see that in South Carolina they have a monument with that SAME flag! You are a racist just for asking that question. You should watch tv more. Southern=racist. At least during this news cycle. P.S. If you disagree wit...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: I Stand in Awe of Arkansas' Legislators - Porkmeister on 4/2/15 at 9:07 am
As a good Catholic that doesn't believe in premarital sex could I refuse to make a kid born out of wedlock a birthday cake? This law is bad for a lot of reasons not the least of which is denying a group of people equal protection under the law, not to mention the very real economic consequences, I...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

I wish I could disagree with you. I'm still holding out hope that Asa will veto that craptastic legislation. Maybe he has enough cover from businesses. We can't say that we won't know what happens because of this foolishness, Indiana has shown us. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: PSA: Dillard's and Sam's coming to Conway - Porkmeister on 3/21/15 at 3:01 pm
There was a tax increase voted on in November for the overpass and to build additional roads to improve traffic flow from Oak street to I40. It will also help fund construction of a couple big roundabouts near Lewis Crossing. We love roundabouts (but they are seriously cool). ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Confederate States of America: The Demographics and Reality... - Porkmeister on 3/3/15 at 9:19 am
Money and power were the central issues. There was over a trillion dollars (in today's money) tied into slavery. While the North was able to make money by financing and supplying slaves they managed to hold their noses. Once they weren't making their cut it became a wedge they could use to limit ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: What to do with 120 acres of pasture. - Porkmeister on 2/22/15 at 8:54 pm
I think you mean the Crop Reduction program. You can plant pecans and other native hardwoods. I believe the maximum amount of the time you can be in the program is 15 years. There is a lot of paperwork involved and there is upfront work that has to be done to the land to qualify. It does provid...

Well it is a small Southern town. Nice people and a nice school. I wouldn't call it a different country from NWA. But if you're an urban person you probably won't care for it. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

Rednecks are great to have around....in moderation. When you have that many rednecks in one place though bad stuff will happen. At least we never go full redneck like West Virginia fans. Couches are safe in Little Rock. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)

That has a lot to do with it but a lot of the smaller schools are or were commuter schools. I don't particualy want UALR to have football. UCA is my other football school. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Going forward - Porkmeister on 10/19/14 at 10:21 am
I heard that Fayetteville always nixed every UALR attempt at starting a football program. The UA didn't want to draw resources away from the flagship. Once all the games are moved I could see that idea coming back. They could have a decent sun belt type program. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

It is because they are afraid of losing or looking bad. Arkansas could easily play ASU instead of any other Sunbelt opponent or Central Arkansas instead of another Southland team like Nichols. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: SEC running the scores up; Your thoughts? - Porkmeister on 9/7/14 at 11:59 am
Arkansas and A&M should be happy. Texas Tech and Nebraska both played teams from the same conference (the Soutland) as Nichols, Lamar, and Sam Houston. They both needed some luck to win their games. Sometimes a cupcake doesn't play like a cupcake. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
