watched the show since its inception. best show on tv IMO. i loved the 1st season but this new one is shaping up to be great. the character complexity is starting to really kick in......

always thought crowe looked like bill hicks in some subtle ways. only problem for me is that i have no true sense of how crowe would do in delivering comedy when it comes to imitating hicks' standup. i've never been a russell crowe fan so i have my doubts. but if there's anything i'd like to see...

midnight cowboy is referenced several times in "the mom and pop store"...
that is not biological evolution. that is evolution in the sense of evolution of language or music. using that definition, it would still be possible to devolve, since it is not guaranteed that it must get more advanced....
as for your examples, gymnastics and volleyball were two sports in which the us had high expectations for medalling. i think that would have more to do with it. even playing non-US-involved games would then serve to showcase their competition. but as for the rest, i don't think there's more cover...
