re: A quick question about window units... - bayoubrucebruce
If you could find a mini split system (ex. Mitsubishi) , and with enough circuits to do wall mounts in living/kitchen, and bed and bath for $1500 is really cheap. The good mini splits I have done in the past are several thousand installed with just outside unit and one wall unit. For window units ...

Gas heat is a dry heat and heats up fast and is very efficient. Electric heat is not as hot as gas but is warm immediately. Heat p...

re: OT A/C Experts - Heat Pump vs. Conventional - bayoubrucebruce
If by conventional, do you mean electric heat? If so a heat pump will cost a little more in equipment prices, it is more efficient to heat your house. It should use the same amount of electricity to heat you house as to cool your house or about the same. Just straight cool with electric heat...

re: Air conditioner drain issues - bayoubrucebruce
If the drain has a p-trap on the line and you sucked the water out of the trap while trying to unclog it will try to pull the water back into the unit if the coil is before the blower. If you have a tee before the trap it should be capped. ...
